Sofa & Furniture Reupholstery

A well-built sofa can outlive three sets of fabric. When the cushions sag, the seams pull or the color no longer fits the room, the frame is usually still sound, and a good frame is worth keeping.

Since 2008 our San Juan Capistrano workroom has taken sofas, sectionals and chairs down to the wood, repaired what needs it, and built them back up with new foam, padding and fabric. The result sits, looks and lasts like a new piece, often better than one from a showroom.

Inside the piece, not just the cover

Reupholstery is more than new fabric. We check the joints, retie or replace springs, and choose foam to the way you like to sit: soft and sinking, or firm and tailored. Down-wrapped cushions, new welting and re-glued frames are all part of the work when the piece needs them.

Patterns are centered and matched across cushions, arms and backs, so a stripe runs true and a large motif lands where it should.

Fabric for real life

Choose from hundreds of fabrics in the shop, from stain-resistant performance weaves to linens, velvets and leathers, including Perennials and Schumacher. You are also welcome to bring your own fabric, and we will tell you how many yards your piece needs.

How it works

1. Send a photoText or email a photo of your piece for an estimate and the yardage it needs, or book a free consultation.
2. Choose your fabricVisit the shop to see our fabric library, or bring your own.
3. We order materialsApprove your quote and place your deposit, and we order the fabric and materials.
4. We do the workLabor takes about two to three weeks once materials arrive. Pickup and delivery are complimentary for local residents.
