Some rooms are more than restaurants. They are where families grew up.
For 54 years, Wind & Sea was the heart of Dana Point Harbor. First dates, birthdays, Sunday brunches, and sunsets with a mai tai in hand. On September 15, 2026, it served its last meal before the harbor rebuild, and a piece of all our hearts went with it.

A room that could not close for us
Before the doors closed, owner Bob Mardian trusted our family with his. The dining room still had guests to welcome, so the work had to happen without the room ever looking like a job site.
We rebuilt the booths one section at a time, working after hours so not a single guest was turned away. Each night we opened a section, did the work, and had it ready again before the next service.

New foam, new seats, re-covered backs
Restaurant seating carries more weight, more hours and more spills than any sofa at home. Every booth received new foam, new seats and re-covered backs, all done with the care that room deserved.

The finished booths kept the character guests knew: the channeled palm-leaf backs, the cream seats, the long curves that follow the room toward the water.

Thank you, Bob
Bob, thank you. Thank you for 54 years of welcoming Orange County to your table, and for letting us be part of your story. We are proud to have been your last chapter.
About us
We are Capistrano Upholstery, a family-owned workroom in San Juan Capistrano. For years we have restored the booths, sofas, boats and patios that hold Orange County's memories, for restaurants, hotels, homes and the boats in the harbor. If a piece matters to you, it matters to us.
If you have seating that holds a story of its own, book a consultation and we will come to you.
