At the end of a long day you lower yourself into a chair, your hand finds the arm, and without meaning to, your fingers notice the fabric.

Most people never choose that feeling. It comes with whatever was on the showroom floor. A custom piece reverses the order: you choose the feeling first, and we build the furniture around it.

The fabric is the piece

The frame gives a piece its shape. The fabric gives it its character: what you see across the room, what you touch every day, what sets the mood before anyone speaks. So every commission begins with cloth in your hands, held to your wall, in your light.

The mills we work with, Thibaut and Perennials among them, weave fabrics tested to tens of thousands of rubs. A good frame in cloth like that is never replaced. It is recovered, decades on, for someone you love.

A custom piece is not more furniture. It is less: one piece, chosen well, that you never think about again.

Three questions

A showroom table holds hundreds of swatches. Three questions narrow them to a handful.

How do you want to feel when you sit here? Rested or energized. Tucked in or on display. Let the feeling choose the cloth. The color follows.

Who shares this piece with you? Children, dogs, a west-facing window. Not problems, just facts that point toward a performance weave or a fade-resistant yarn.

Should it whisper, or speak? Oatmeal linen is the calm of a room. An indigo ikat is the reason you walk in. Good homes hold both.

Twenty fabrics

Each lives in our shop and has been sewn onto real pieces for real homes. Notice which ones make you pause.

Take a few swatches home. The one you keep touching is yours.

Made to measure

Every piece is built to the inch: the room, the doorway, the stairwell. Sectionals that wrap a great room. Banquettes the length of a kitchen wall. Headboards for a California king. Outdoor daybeds sized to the pool deck. A sixteen-foot sectional in oatmeal linen reads as a soft horizon. In navy velvet, a jewel box.

How it works

  1. A conversation. You tell us about the room and how you live.
  2. Swatches in hand. We bring a curated edit to you, or you visit the shop.
  3. Measure, sketch, quote. One drawing, one price, in writing.
  4. Build and deliver. Hardwood frames, hand-tied springs, every staple hidden. We stay until you sit down and smile.

We also recover the pieces you already love. A good frame in new cloth is good for another thirty years.
